There’s something special happening around Mark Frazie, and Atlanta’s Upper Westside is watching it unfold in real time. Mark doesn’t just light the fire — he is the fire. Long known as Riverside’s go-to butcher, and recently our very own Go-To Expert Neighbor, Mark has built a loyal following through quality meats, unforgettable flavors, and the kind of hospitality that makes customers feel like family. But this spring and summer, the spotlight around him has grown even brighter.
On May 30th, Mark celebrated his third anniversary in Riverside with a lively neighborhood block party filled with live music, local vendors, food, and community fellowship — a true reflection of the culture and energy he has helped cultivate on the Upper Westside over the last three years. Fresh off appearances on FOX 5 Atlanta and ANF’s ATL Live, including a segment produced by fellow Riverside neighbor, Nathalie Malkoff, Mark continues sharing his passion for grilling, cooking, and community while proudly shining a light on the neighborhood he deeply loves.
Adding to the excitement, Mark recently earned 5th place during Creative Loafing’s Atlanta Burger Week, an impressive accomplishment for a first-time competitor. “I was told no one breaks the top 10 in their first year competing. It’s a huge honor,” says Frazie.

This season also marks a major new chapter for Mark and the growing Frazie’s brand. Through his involvement in the LikeMinds ATL collaborative project at the former BrewDog space behind Krog District. Mark is helping bring a community-driven experience to one of Atlanta’s most visible entertainment spaces. The 14,000-square-foot space will house the pop-up for 120-day this summer, June to September, in response to Atlanta’s growing tourism momentum and its role as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The concept was driven by Kelly Campbell, who is a partner of STHRN Hospitality Co. and runs Westside Motor Lounge, Echo Room, and several Atlanta food and beverage concepts. She is leading the pop-up alongside teams from Southern Culinary & Creative, Smith’s Olde Bar, Bunker Design, and of course our very own #1 Butcher, Frazie’s Meat & Market.” It was created to reimagine the massive Beltline venue through BrewDog and Motor Lounge partnerships centered around culture, of Smith’s will offer a menu of sandwiches and shareables.
“This is a great opportunity for Frazie’s exposure and it helps to have the expanded team at the shop while I work this pop-up,” said Frazie. Campbell shared that a stage will be added for live performance, a DJ booth, bar games, and a re-decor for the LikeMinds concept. Hower’s menu is inspired by his Vietnamese and barbecue concept Pho Cue, and a beverage menu from Dana Roberts of Westside Motor Lounge. “The menu will feature draft cocktails, local beer to align with its ‘drink like a local’ mission, wine, THC drinks, and nonalcoholic beverages,” said Campbell.

Just as exciting is the recent expansion of the Frazie’s team with the addition of Chef Antwan Cooper, better known as Chef De, and local butcher and Riverside resident Karrie Colins. “Karrie is super talented and I’m really happy to have her on our team. Having a fellow Riversider on board is a great bonus. Chef De is great with seasoning and smoking the meat,” says Frazie.
Before joining Frazie’s Meat & Market, Chef De served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Supply Specialist, managing multi-million-dollar aircraft inventory and supporting operations around the world. After his military service, he pursued culinary training at the Culinary Institute of Virginia, earning both his Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees before spending a decade helping elevate the culinary program at a premier Virginia golf club.
“Love what Mark is doing with smoking meats, the ingredients, the neighborhood - I just wanted to be a part of it.” — Chef De
Now back home in Georgia, Chef De has become a key part of the growing Frazie’s team, bringing structure, consistency, and strong kitchen leadership to the market’s daily operations.Mark makes one thing clear: none of the growth and success would be possible without his right-hand partner in both life and business — his wife, Kimberly. “She is part of everything we do: private dinners, shop décor, promotions, referrals — all of it. I couldn’t do this without her,” Mark says.
As Frazie’s continues to grow, there is no doubt his heart remains behind the brand-- and is still deeply rooted in community, craftsmanship, and bringing people together around great food. And if this summer is any indication, Mark Frazie is just getting started.//
